Saguaro

I have been attempting the feat of writing patterns for awhile now, but the process is daunting and I had no clue how much work would go into it.
I started thinking about the next pattern I wanted to work on, and the answer wasn’t clear. I could have made a hat or fingerless gloves sure, but I wanted to bring something back from “the dead.” Mittens!
I love the whimsy of mittens, though they are far from functional, they do keep your hands warm. They also seem to bring back a feeling of our childhood, bundled up from head to toe and gripping the rope of a sled with our mitten-hands.
This mitten is worked up using Vanna’s Choice yarn from Lion Brand in the colorway Olive. It features a nice detail around the cuff done by slip stitches, and a nice curvature of the thumb which reminiscent of a saguaro cactus.
This pattern works up in a relatively short time and is a great project for those cold winter days.
